b.box for kids was founded in 2007 by Monique Filer and Dannielle Michaels, who wanted to make parents’ lives more convenient with innovative and well-designed baby products. The company has been embraced by retailers in different sectors including baby stores, homewares, gift stores and pharmacies.
The company’s hero products include a patented diaper wallet and sippy cup, both of which have been awarded multiple awards for design and innovation. These include the Best New Product Award at the 2010 and 2013 Australian Business Awards.
In 2014–15, b.box for kids increased exports by 93 per cent and foreign sales now account for 71 per cent of total annual revenue. The company’s unique designs are sold in over 20 countries and its primary markets are South Korea and the USA.
b.box for kids continues to invest significantly in growing its international business, and recently rebranded to introduce multilingual packaging and instructional leaflets, and an online shopping cart platform in multiple currencies. The company launched a dedicated website for the USA market, and invested in a warehouse management system to process and track orders across time zones.
b.box for kids also has a contract with The Honest Company, a USA-based business co-founded by celebrity Jessica Alba, to create exclusive versions of its diaper caddy. This collaboration led to a boost in global consumer awareness of the brand, and increased enquires across its entire product range.
Judges commended b.box for kids’ growth in China and the USA, as well as its commitment to excellent product design, noting its positive contribution to Australia’s international reputation for quality.
