As the leading developer and manufacturer of kangaroo leather, Packer Leather holds preferred-supplier status with many of the world’s most recognisable brands. In 1990, Packer Leather established its own research and development laboratory to collaborate with clients on custom products. This has led to innovations in leather durability and the creation of leathers with anti-microbial, waterproof, fire resistance and thermal stability properties. The company’s high-performance kangaroo leather, branded as K-Leather, accounts for 65 per cent of Packer Leather’s total production and export sales have grown 80 per cent between 2012–13 and 2014–15.
