DAMsmart was founded in 2007 to meet a need for specialist audio-visual digitisation and preservation services. The company converts film, video and audio collections into high-definition data formats and designs digital asset management systems to store, find and share content. DAMsmart is now one of the largest companies of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, creating many petabytes of data each year, and has exported its services to organisations such as the National Archives of Fiji, National Library Board of Singapore, Olympic Council of Asia and Radio Television Hong Kong. In 2014–15, DAMsmart increased year-on-year exports by 102 per cent, and foreign sales now account for 46 per cent of the company’s total annual revenue.
