SWA Water Australia designs, manufactures and constructs industrial waste water treatment plants across many countries and industries. Last year, three-quarters of the company’s sales came from export, which significantly increased revenue and doubled profit.
Part of a large multi-national environmental engineering group, SWA Water has plants operating in East Asia, India, the Middle East, New Zealand, South America and the United States. During the past twelve months the company has also successfully completed projects in Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore and the UAE. Projects have included oil refineries, power stations, an international airport terminal, a gold mine, a food factory and a car manufacturing plant.
SWA Water’s services include installation works, turnkey design and construction projects, laboratory test work, site investigations and pilot plant trials. Products include oil separators, dissolved air flotation (DAF) units, solid separators, DAF thickeners, screens, and belt filters.
The Australian Export Award judges commended SWA Water on a very clear and detailed export strategy with good market analysis and product differentiation. They also noted that SWA Water has implemented a number of strategies to help develop different export market segments and that this is now reaping results.
