Winners Workplace Presentation for Matrix Composites & Engineering
Staff at Matrix Composites & Engineering, gathered on 20 December to participate in the Australian Export Award Workplace Presentation. The company won the Large Advanced Manufacturer Award at this years National Award Ceremony in Sydney on 1 December and this Presentation was an opportunity to share that accolade with their staff.

Presenting the Winner’s Certificate to Aaron Begley, Chief Executive Officer was the local Federal Member for Cowan, Luke Simpkins MP, who said Matrix Composities & Engineering represented a significant achievement by winning at the State level and then competing against five other outstanding companies in this category to win the national award. There were three National Award winners from Western Australia this year and these three companies last year alone generated almost A$600 million in export earnings and employed more than 25,000 people.
The company's large group of highly skilled staff significantly contributed to their exporting success which includes full time engineers, industrial chemists and materials scientists as well as a number of project managers, production engineers, production managers and technicians. This team enabled the company to take products from conception through to realisation, develop markets and execute export contracts.
Mr Simpkins, along with Paul Mercer from the Department of Commerce (WA) who run the Western Australian Industry and Export Awards, and representatives from sponsor the Australian Made Campaign Limited, enjoyed a morning tea with the staff after the conclusion of formalities.
The other 11 Australian Export Award winners will hold their Workplace Presentations in the new year.
