Entry Process
The Australian Export Awards is a collaborative program. Each calendar year, representatives from the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and coordinators from the eight State and Territory Export Award programs plan and implement the National Awards program.
Award categories, eligibility guidelines, judging criteria, application processes, marketing and publicity activities are reviewed annually with the objective in making sure each industry sector is represented appropriately and that consistency is achieved across all categories at the state and territory and national level.
Each of the eight State and Territory Export Award programs is focused on recognising and rewarding their most innovative and successful companies participating in international trade.
Winners from each State and Territory Awards’ program automatically progress to the Australian Export Awards as national finalists where they are assessed by a national judging panel against other State and Territory winners and 12 national winners are selected, endorsed by the Minister for Trade. One of these 12 winners then receives the highest accolade, selected to be the Prime Minister's Australian Exporter of the Year.
State and Territory winners will be announced at presentation ceremonies held across the country in September and October.
National finalists will be contacted after their state and territory presentation ceremony. The National Awards ceremony will take place in the last week of November in Parliament House Canberra where winners in each category and the Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year will be announced at this gala event.
