Divex Asia Pacific is a world leading manufacturer and supplier of diving and sub-sea equipment to the military, professional and commercial diving sectors.
The company began trading in July 2003 and notched up its first export success with a contract to supply closed-circuit breathing apparatus to the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ anti-terrorist group. Divex has since won contracts in Australia, Vietnam and Japan for similar requirements.
After 14 months of dedicated research and complex negotiations, Divex was awarded a AUD10 million contract to build a deep diving system for a Chinese oilfield diving contractor. This represents a major breakthrough into the Chinese market and provides an important platform for growth.
Divex occupies two premises in Western Australia (both in the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson), to cater for the build of its current orders of saturation diving systems, rebreathers, servicing, and provision of ancillary products and spare parts.
The company employs over 50 staff with a strong emphasis on marketing, project management and engineering. As the saturation diving systems are large projects, a considerable volume of fabrication work is subcontracted and local subcontracts are placed in Western Australia by Divex.
The continued reliability and integrity of the diving systems and individual products makes Divex the market leader in the industry. The company has continued to grow by 30 per cent each year.
With the continued growth of the Asia Pacific region as a major offshore oil supplier, combined with Asia’s increased defence expenditure and the company’s combined marketing energy and momentum, Divex is well placed to continue to further expand and to increase it’s export revenues.
