BridgeClimb opened its doors in the Rocks, Sydney, on October 1 1998, providing public access to the catwalks and ladders of the Sydney Harbour Bridge - the first tourism operator on a bridge anywhere in the world. BridgeClimb is regarded as the must-do activity in Sydney.
Over two million people have climbed the 1,439 steps to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, since the company started in 1998. Todd Coates, Managing Director, said it was the BridgeClimb team members, who make the climbs such a special experience.
In 2006, BridgeClimb introduced a second climb experience, The Discovery Climb. Climbers traverse the suspension arch, moving into the steel heart of the bridge, using walkways previously used exclusively by maintenance teams. This is a unique experience that gives climbers a close-up look at the engineering and design of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Climbers receive personalised commentary as they are guided by Climb Leaders on a three and a half hour physical and emotional journey to the summit. Climbs are available at dawn, during the day, at twilight and at night. |
